In the hotel industry generally (and at our hotel specifically) rates displayed on booking platforms (Booking, Despegar, Expedia, Airbnb) and on our website do not include VAT. But don't worry; here is how it works:
Uruguayan Residents:
Good news! Rates are exempt from VAT for stays from the Monday following *Semana de Turismo* (Holy Week) through November 15th of each year.
For stays between November 16th and the final weekend of *Semana de Turismo*, a 10% VAT applies.
Invoices with RUT: If you need an invoice with a RUT (Tax ID), please request it as soon as you make your reservation. In this case, a 10% VAT applies to the rate year-round. Please note that once the initial invoice has been issued, it is no longer possible to request an invoice with a RUT.
Foreign Residents:
Good news! Rates are exempt from VAT year-round.
